New Post Man!
Ehhh I just realized the 'New Post' shortcut link on top of my blog! So I clicked it and it led me here to type a new post. Tricky!
The sun is merciless - I can feel a migraine resurfacing. Everyone, please make sure you're hydrated enough (that means 'drink water'! Not 'put moisturizer in lips') because dehydration may lead to headaches and fainting spells. Juices, coffee and tea do not count ok.
I am looking forward to being back home for Chinese New Year. What I'm less excited about is visiting houses that have no ventilation and waiting for my dad to finish talking while my sister and I die of heat and boredom for an hour in the hottest mid-afternoons of the year, sipping our box drinks very slowly because we ate so much in the previous stop already. Hehhhh... But it's all good! Family time, I should learn to handle with more gratitude and much... love. To be less critical, less dull, more giving, more affectionate (*shiver* but really. Now or never). I've always had mixed feelings about Chinese New Year - feeling dragged at some points, feeling quite happy to see select people; indifferent about meeting others.
I need to prepare myself again to see beyond the tong tong chiangs, angpows and kueh bangkit. To really appreciate the unity and blessing behind visiting our kin and family friends and the presence of each of my family members as we go about together. Although it's an annual thing and there are little surprises involved, the fact that we don't do it every other day or month is already a darn good reason for me to treat it with a little more healthy sensitivity and respect.
I know I'll miss it all some day :(

KLTI This Week : Proverbs 1-15 . This is for whoever who'd like to know what we're up to and maybe read along too heheheh. But you should come and listen to Teacher Paulina - she bubbles over with biblical surprises that most of us overlook (and that's why we are in KLTI, amen) when we screen through the books. We have lotsa fun.
